The Falcons have appointed coaches for wide receivers and tight ends.

Raheem Morris is solidifying his coaching staff for the upcoming season.

Despite the current football season not officially concluding, the Atlanta Falcons are already gearing up for the next one. With key positions like head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, and special teams coordinator filled, Raheem Morris and his team are now focusing on securing coaches for specific positional groups.

In a recent announcement on Thursday evening, the Falcons revealed their new wide receivers coach to be Ike Hilliard and their tight ends coach to be Kevin Koger.

Ike Hilliard brings a wealth of experience to the role, having been a first-round pick for the New York Giants in 1997. He enjoyed an eight-season tenure with the Giants before concluding his playing career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he spent an additional four seasons. Following his retirement from playing, Hilliard transitioned into coaching, serving as a receivers coach for various NFL teams including the Washington Commanders, Buffalo Bills, and Pittsburgh Steelers. Most recently, Hilliard held the position of wide receivers coach and interim co-offensive coordinator for the Auburn Tigers football team.

On the other hand, Kevin Koger has a background as a tight end for the University of Michigan before venturing into coaching. He served as the offensive quality control coach for the Green Bay Packers from 2019 to 2020 and then transitioned to become the tight ends coach for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2021 to the present. Koger’s move to the Falcons likely stems from changes within the Chargers’ coaching staff under new head coach Jim Harbaugh, resulting in a lateral move to Atlanta.

Both Hilliard and Koger bring unique experiences and expertise to their respective coaching roles with the Falcons, and their additions are welcomed as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
