BREAKING NEWS: Adam Reynolds Invests $3.6 Million to Transform Mansion into Shelter for Homeless Youth in Red Hill, Brisbane
Brisbane, Queensland – June 21, 2025 — In a move that has captured national attention and warmed hearts across Australia, Brisbane Broncos captain and NRL icon Adam Reynolds has made a remarkable philanthropic gesture. The 34-year-old rugby league superstar has invested $3.6 million of his personal wealth into transforming a luxurious mansion in Red Hill, Brisbane, into a fully operational shelter for homeless youth. This unexpected but profoundly generous action underscores Reynolds’ deep commitment to giving back to the community and using his platform for social change.
The sprawling estate, located in one of Brisbane’s most sought-after neighborhoods, will no longer stand as a symbol of opulence and exclusivity. Instead, it will soon be reimagined as a place of hope, healing, and new beginnings for vulnerable young people facing homelessness, trauma, and systemic neglect.

A Vision Born From Experience and Empathy
Adam Reynolds, who has enjoyed a glittering NRL career spanning over a decade with the South Sydney Rabbitohs and currently the Brisbane Broncos, has long been a figure admired for his tenacity on the field and leadership off it. But this latest act reveals a more personal side to the veteran halfback—one driven by empathy and responsibility.
Speaking at a press conference outside the Red Hill mansion earlier today, Reynolds explained his motivation for the investment.
> “This isn’t just a project—this is a promise. A promise to every kid who’s ever felt invisible, like they had no place in this world. I’ve been fortunate to have a career that’s given me stability, but I’ve seen too many young people—some I grew up with—fall through the cracks. This shelter is for them,” said Reynolds, visibly emotional.
The project, dubbed “Haven House”, is being developed in partnership with several local NGOs and support services, including Mission Australia, The Salvation Army, and Youth Futures Queensland. The shelter is expected to provide accommodation for up to 30 youth, aged 14 to 21, at any given time. But more than just a roof over their heads, the facility will offer counseling services, job training, mentorship programs, education support, and mental health resources—all free of charge.

Renovation Underway: From Mansion to Mission
The mansion, a heritage property once valued at over $4 million, is currently undergoing renovations to better suit its future residents. While the exterior retains its classic Queenslander architecture—wide verandahs, ornate latticework, and expansive garden spaces—the interior is being completely restructured.
According to architect and project lead, Danika Hart, the redesign focuses on creating a welcoming and empowering space. “We’re stripping away the luxury that doesn’t serve the mission, and replacing it.
