🚨 BREAKING: Leyton Orient want to sell Sean Clare despite Richie Wellens’ reservations
Leyton Orient have made Sean Clare available for transfer this summer as the club looks to reshape the squad ahead of the new season. The defender is officially among the professional players listed as available for transfer by the club.
However, the decision has reportedly left head coach Richie Wellens disappointed, with the manager understood to have preferred keeping Clare as part of his plans.
Clare joined Orient from Wigan Athletic in 2024 on a three-year contract and has since made more than 60 appearances for the club.
The situation could now lead to tension between the coaching staff and the club hierarchy, with Orient prepared to listen to offers while Wellens would rather see the experienced defender remain at Brisbane Road.
Several clubs are expected to monitor Clare’s situation, and a departure could happen if the right offer arrives.
The club want the sale. The coach doesn’t. 👀🔴
