Celtic are stepping up their efforts to strengthen the squad before the new season, with the club expected to complete several transfers in the coming days.
One of their main targets is FC Utrecht winger Adrian Blake. Celtic have already made contact with the Dutch club to discuss a possible move for the 20-year-old attacker. Blake has just one year remaining on his contract, and Utrecht are believed to value him at around £2.5 million, making him an affordable option for the Scottish champions.
Manager Martin O’Neill wants new signings to arrive as soon as possible so they can settle into the team during pre-season and adapt to his tactical approach before the campaign begins.
Alongside Blake, Celtic remain interested in Egyptian midfielder Haissem Hassan. Despite competition from clubs in Europe’s top five leagues, the Scottish side are still in discussions with the player’s representatives. Celtic believe their offer of UEFA Champions League football could help convince him to move to Glasgow.
If Celtic succeed in signing both Blake and Hassan, the additions would boost the squad’s quality and depth as the club aims to defend its Scottish title and compete strongly in European competitions.
With pre-season already underway, more transfer activity is expected soon as Celtic look to complete their summer recruitment before the start of the new season.
